Colman

Finally, a bit of Tankard focus over here!

dan

Don't question my tankard focus. I'm all tankard, although I have recently been more concerned with sunglasses and charity shops.

Colman

Sorry Dan. I just miss her so much, but I was wrong to take it out on you, I know that now.

Ps. A Spaniard, Javier, was supposed to be having her next, but we've heard nothing from him.

PPs. So you going all high fidelity on ITV this evening.

dan

What's with the little 's' in 'Ps'? Is that the proper way to do it?

Javier has been quiet. Perhaps he is fearful.

Ps. Will blog about being on the telly soon. Luckily I haven't seen it on the telly myself yet, or else I might be subject to some sort of time/space continuum paradox thing, maybe.

Marcus Brown

Have you been on the telly dan?

Colman

Ps. off.

dan

Marcus - I'm in the new innocent advert. Hence all the telly chat. I wear a pink t-shirt and make a smoothie with the help of some charmingly rubbish animation.

Marcus Brown

Just had a look. Nice beard action.

TomLR

Is there a key to the action depicted on the tankard ? There must be some kind of narrative there to follow - a latter day Beowulf if you will.. maybe I'll cast my eye over it when it reaches me. I have a partial degree in medieval Church Slavonic (and like the ballet Dan, that's true)

dan

Not sure what tale is told on the tankard. I think it might be Hansel and Gretel, or Hoddle and Waddle. Difficult to make it out. But if anyone can fathom it, my money's on you Tom.

TomLR

I can sense it being something to do with that pair - you can just see it oozing all over it. Mariner figures in there somewhere too,I think - I just saw his beak peeking round one of the curves. He's the one with his shirt out what Hoddle copied later on in the 80s.

Marcus Brown

Shall I explain. The text is in Bavarian German, which is fitting when you think that it had spent so much time here. Let me know if you would like to here the Tankard's story.

dan

Don't hold back Marcus. Tom would have us believe that it's about Paul Mariner or Eric "The Witch" Gates or something, so if he needs correcting, let us have it.

Marcus Brown

I will pen my "reading of the Tankard" and post on blog. Must do some bloody work first. And Tom, you're wrong.

beeker

Was very excited to see you on my telly last night. (Dan, not the Tankard). And, like Comfortable Disorientation Helen, found myself feeling like it was one of my friends on telly.

dan at innocent

I still haven't seen it on proper telly. Glad you like it.

TomLR

I accept my wrongness re. The Tankard if Marcus (as seems to be the case) says he knows.
I'd be fascinated to find out, too.
This makes my want to create another Tankard design - a parable featuring Mariner, The Witch Gates and Bontcho Guentchev.

Colman

...and maybe Mr. G. Boycott?

TomLR

We can have Geoff in it too - I don't see why not. He can be throwing his wife out with the bath water.

Colman

She had that coming.

Marcus Brown

Will pen soon. Had a near death experience which has held me up a little.

TomLR

Hope all's well Marcus - and you're not to numb...
