do you know a good writer?
We (innocent) are looking for a writer to come and work full time at our place in London. We recently made a decision to have a go at running our own in-house agency, and we need someone who can come and write lots of classic innocent stuff. That means that this person will be writing everything from ads to pack copy to books to blog posts to everything else that we have to write.
There is a detailed job spec on our website. Suffice to say, we're interested in meeting people who can really write. Snappy five word headlines are fine, but we like beautiful, funny, though-provoking long copy even more. Funny is important, as is the ability to get to Shepherds Bush most days (our office is well served by a variety of modes of public transport).
If you know someone who might be interested, please forward this post to them.
Thank you very much for reading.

I take umbrage at the claim about public transport, Dan - it is NOT well served by public transport.
You might get away with that kind of claim on your bottles (all those men with clipboards and claims about 'no funny business') but when it comes to public tranport it really IS time to ask for your Mums' addresses.
Now - if I were to apply, could you tell me - is it necessary to be able to :
a) Speak German
b) Understand your product ?

Dear Tom. As you well know, there are four tube stations within 10-15 minutes walking distance (Shepherds Bush, Goldhawk Road, Ravenscourt Park and Hammersmith). That time when you came over and insisted on walking from Osterley was entirely of your own doing - navigating by the stars is a redundant and foolish way of getting around London, especially when underground.
No German required, full understanding appreciated.

I did NOT navigate by the stars.
I used a spirit level.

Oh hang it all.
Until that last comment I thought I was the one what was on for the job.

Would you hire an American who has no experience (other than a degree in advertising)?
I didn't think so.
When I studied up in lovely Leeds I fell in love with Inocent.
Ehhh, I know I have a better shot at becoming the next James Bond but I might as well give it a shot.

Hey Dan, if you have time check www.beersandideas.com. It's one of the projects from two German copywriters and one AD from England. You can see a lot of thought there. And some of their work. Maybe I'm...er..they are interested. Be good, mate.

I referred to you as Obi Wan, I hope that wasn't too much!

Hi,
I'm a writer from India. I have about 6 years of experience in advertising agencies in India. And a few sites and blogs too. People have told me (on my blog and to my face) that I have a funny 'voice' while I write.
Now, I don't know how to get to Shepherds Bush, but given a little time and that paper most people call a Visa, I can figure that out.
And oh, I do like smoothies.
How good a fit am I?

Hey Dan,
I have done you the ultimate favour and linked to this from my blog.
Not sure how good a writer my Mum is, but if she applies please be gentle.
Also, I am ridiculously over proud of the image I knocked up to illustrate said post:
